1.Hungkuang University (hereinafter referred to as the school) is committed to promoting the research and education in biotechnology and health-related professional technologies, strengthening effective coordination and communication, and increasing collaboration opportunities between faculty and external biotechnology and health industries; therefore, the Biotechnology, Health and Innovation Research Center (hereinafter referred to as BHIRC) was established, and the ” Regulations for Hungkuang University Biotechnology, Health and Innovation Research Center” (hereinafter referred to as the regulations) were formulated.

2.Missions of the BHIRC are as follow:

(1)Promote research and education in biotechnology and health-related professional technology.

(2)Establish partnerships between the school and external biotechnology and health-related industries to enhancing the school’s academic goals in improving health and quality of life.

(3)Effectively transform information from biotechnology research into strategies to improve human health and quality of life.

(4)Promote scientific inquiry to cultivate the next generation of practical scientific research leaders who can solve actual clinical or social health problems.

(5)Establish evidence for education and practice through research to enrich the learning experience of students.

(6)Strengthen the ability of teachers and students to develop and transform specific discipline and interprofessional knowledge.

3.One director is appointed to fully manage the business of BHIRC; a full-time assistant to assist in promoting the related business of the BHIRC; administrative operating funds are budgeted by the Research and Development Office.

4.The relevant meetings of the BHIRC are as follows:

(1)BHIRC meetings are held quarterly to review the implementation progress and the use of funds.

(2)Regarding necessary support affairs, relevant researchers from the BHIRC project will be convened to hold informal meetings to discuss research issues.

(3)When necessary, temporary meetings shall be held to communicate, coordinate and integrate urgent matters.

5.The regulations are approved by the executive meeting, and implement after approval by the President. The amendment will also be the same.
